Approval flows are a great way to set up a standard process your organization must follow to either validate compensations or mark statements as paid in Dolfin. In this article, we're gonna take a look at how, as Admins, we can set an approval flow for statements and ensure the right people are assigned to this process.

1. Go To the Approval Flows Section

In this section you'll find two different approval flow settings. Focusing on Statements Approval, let's go ahead and click on "Configure steps."

2. Select a Condition

👋 There are 4 conditions you can choose for an approval flow:

  • Always: You can select this condition when you need someone to always be part of this approval flow.

  • Compensation is between, greater than, or lower than: You'll have to enter a specific value for this condition to apply. In case you select "Compensation is between," you'll have to enter a lowest and highest value.

3. Select an approver

You can select between 4 different approvers:

  1. Compensation Recipient

  2. Team Manager

  3. Any Admin

  4. Specific User

👋 Important: If you want to make a normal user, a team manager, or a specific user part of this process, they're going to need to be supervisors or have Full View access of their team data. For more information related to this topic, you can read this article: Add a New Team Member.

4. Activate Approval Flow

Once you activate an approval flow, users who are part of it will be able to navigate to Statements and mark them as paid with ease.
